The Traditional Music Week
Every year, from April 20th to 25th, the Traditional Music Week takes place in the Kyrgyz Republic. The purpose of this celebration is to preserve, enhance, and develop traditional music, oral-professional music traditions in folklore, and the oral tradition in the era of globalization.
As part of the Traditional Music Week celebration, the opening of the Department of Music Art at the Eurasian International University was also planned. It is the first time that a department dedicated to Music Art with a focus on traditional music has been established within a private university.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as guests from the field of music art.
During the event, the following activities took place:
- Presentation of the university's technical and material resources;
- Inauguration of the Department of Music Art;
- Masterclasses on folk singing, playing various traditional musical instruments, portrait art, artistic music composition, clothing design and modeling;
- Concert program featuring the pop-folk ensemble;
- Demonstration of the traditional hospitality of the nomadic people;
- Tasting of traditional national cuisine.
