On April 20, within the framework of the Traditional Music Week, a solemn opening ceremony of the Department of Traditional Music Art took place at EIU. This event holds great significance for the region as the department will play a vital role in preserving and studying the country's rich musical heritage.

The department will provide students with an opportunity to study various traditional music genres along with their associated history and culture. Additionally, it will contribute to expanding cultural connections with other countries and regions.

The inauguration of the Department of Traditional Music Art took place during the Traditional Music Week, which has been held annually in Kyrgyzstan since 2017.
