The Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic got acquainted with the activities of the Eurasian International University
On January 25, 2024, Alymkadyr Beishenaliev, Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, made an unscheduled visit to the Eurasian International University and the university clinic. The visit was timed to familiarize ourselves with the material and technical medical equipment of universities, colleges, and clinics, as well as their compliance with licensed educational requirements.
Alymkadyr Beishenaliev was met by Roza Amanova, rector of the Eurasian International University, Kubynychbek Zhumaliev, head of the founding block and the university administration.
During the meeting, the minister was provided with detailed information about the current achievements of the institution in the field of education and medicine. The Minister was briefed on the work being carried out to improve foreign citizens’ access to medical education, a multidisciplinary clinic, as well as gaining knowledge using interactive technologies and innovative teaching methods in dummy rooms, simulation centers and modernly equipped laboratories with access to Pirogov’s table and laboratory animals from our own vivarium.
Much attention was paid to the development of international cooperation of the university with the Educational Commission for Graduates of Foreign Medical Universities, the Medical Council of India, and the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. At the same time, EIU graduates successfully pass national exams for obtaining a national medical license in the USA, India, Pakistan and successfully work abroad. It was noted that EIUs have undergone program accreditation for compliance with international training standards. The university is registered in the World Directory of Medical Universities. Today, 230 students are receiving medical education at the university.
Having toured all the educational buildings, centers, laboratories, university clinic and vivarium, the Minister noted their good material and technical base and equipment.
In particular, Alymkadyr Beishenaliev noted that on January 10 of this year, during a meeting with a Pakistani colleague, the question was raised about the quality of medical education for their citizens in medical educational institutions of Kyrgyzstan. Then the minister expressed his readiness to check the work of medical universities in Kyrgyzstan for compliance with international educational requirements. “Today, having visited EIU, I was convinced that certain work has been carried out since 2022, universities have passed international accreditation, they have their own university clinic and relevant teaching staff,” the minister said.
In addition, the minister talked with students of the institution and noted the importance of them receiving compulsory health insurance. He emphasized that with the adoption of the law “On Health Insurance of Citizens in the Kyrgyz Republic,” foreign students without insurance must pay for medical services as uninsured citizens of foreign countries, and not as students. Therefore, to successfully resolve this issue, active participation is necessary not only from the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, but also from every head of a medical school.
In turn, the management of the university assured the minister that work in this direction is being actively carried out, and all EIU students will receive one hundred percent medical insurance.
Minister A.S. Beishenaliev expressed gratitude for the high activity of the university in training medical personnel for the modern healthcare system, and personnel for other areas of the economy, as well as the modern material and technical equipment of institutions.
This visit was an important step in strengthening the partnership between the university and the government department, which will ensure a high level of training for students and graduates in the field of medicine, as well as promote the development of healthcare in the country and the world.
